The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly and globally impacted customs and border security operations, as well as the flow of goods. Governments, international organizations, the private sector and other actors have had to innovate with new protocols and biosecurity standards, ensuring that these have the least possible impact on the competitiveness and security of customs and international trade processes.

This Webinar will provide a space for dialogue for multilateral organizations and customs agencies from other hemispheres to present and discuss the biosecurity measures in order to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the flow of transnational goods.

The contributions of the panelists will allow the audience of OAS Member States to better understand the challenges encountered and successes achieved by customs in Europe and Oceania, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and coordination in order to mitigate the risks while promoting greater safety and efficiency throughout the supply chain.

The Webinar will have the participation of the following institutions: Secretariat for Multidimensional Security of the Organization of American States (OAS-SMS), the General Secretariat of the World Customs Organization (WCO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) , the Spanish Tax Agency (Customs) and the New Zealand Customs Service
