The event, organized in response to a request from national authorities, aims to generate awareness-raising and dissemination of these obligations, with special emphasis on the development and subsequent implementation of a 1540 National Action Plan.

The meeting will be held from 12 to 13 June 2024 in Quito, Ecuador (venue TBC).

The meeting is convened by the Republic of Ecuador with the support of the CICTE/OAS and the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs. It is made possible by contributions from the European Union to the United Nations Trust Fund for Global and Regional Disarmament Activities.
