The workshop, which targets Brazil’s life science research community, is designed to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of laboratory biosecurity measures. It will include conducting risk analyses on laboratory biosecurity measures and on the research processes to evaluate their potential for dual use. These analyses are crucial for mitigating the risks associated with the misuse of materials and technologies that could be employed in the development of biological weapons. This invitation-only event is organized by the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) of the OAS, with funding from the United States Department of State.
