Countering Aviation Security Ecosystem Threats (CASET)

In collaboration with the U.S. Department of State's MANPADS Interagency Task Force (MTF), CICTE will organize, as part of the project Countering Internal and External Threats to Civil Aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean, training courses on "Countering Aviation Security Ecosystem Threats (CASET)" to address low-tech and high-tech threats to aviation. This 5-day training course is designed to address the numerous advanced threats to civil aviation in the Western Hemisphere and consists of hands-on technical training and information sharing, first-hand perspectives, and best practices among instructors and course participants. Specific topics include Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), Commercially Available Chemicals, Insider Threats, Cyberattack on Critical Aviation Infrastructure, Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and MANPADS and Anti-Tank Guided Munitions (ATGMs).

This training is made possible thanks to the generous financial support of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement. It is being hosted by the Brazil Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) and the Federal Police and organized with the collaboration of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the participation of The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
