The President of the Afro-Peruvian Working Group of the Congress of the Republic of Peru and the Representative of the Office of the Organization of American States in Peru held the Ceremony for the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade within the framework of the VIII Inter-American Week for People of African Descent of the OAS, with the theme "I Have a Dream: Recognition, Justice, and Development."
