The objective of the Plenary is to present the products developed in accordance with the Work Plan approved and the recommendations agreed upon at the 55th GELAVEX meeting, held in a hybrid format from Washington, D.C., United States of America, in October-November 2023. The following reports will be presented:

Subgroup on International Cooperation and Asset Forfeiture:

  • A study to determine effective measures that promote collaboration with Financial Intelligence Units concerning the declaration or non-declaration of cross-border transportation of money and other negotiable instruments, in order to encourage the exchange of such information.

Subgroup on Financial Intelligence Units and Criminal Investigation Agencies:

  • A study to measure the effectiveness of financial intelligence reports, which will determine how effective the development or execution of parallel financial investigations is, and to identify whether any crimes are not being included as precedents to money laundering.
  • A regional study on the treatment of politically exposed persons concerning their actions, predicate offenses related to the levels of risk exposure inherent to their work.


The Pro Tempore Presidency of GELAVEX is held by the Dominican Republic, with the Vice Presidency held by Panama.
