The Internet is an essential part of our lives, influencing everything from our work activities to the entertainment we consume. But it's not enough to be connected; we also need to ensure we are protected.
For this reason, the Cybersecurity Section of the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States (OAS) will lead Cybersecurity Awareness Month throughout October. Through our official channels, we will share practical and valuable information to help you stay safe in the digital world.
During the month, various initiatives will take place, such as:
First week: September 30 - October 4, 2024
- Cybersecurity Symposium 2024, to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (it will not be live-streamed).
- Meeting of the Regional Initiative for Cybersecurity Education and Training (RICET). The meeting will be live-streamed via the website https://niceconference.org/ricet/
Second week: October 7 - 11, 2024
Social media awareness campaign on cybersecurity topics:
- Secure passwords and password managers
- Activation of multi-factor authentication
- Software updates
- Phishing recognition and reporting
- Cybersecurity for SMEs: updating password policies and employee awareness
Third week: October 14 - 18, 2024
Social media awareness campaign on empowering women in cybersecurity:
- Training options for teenage girls in cybersecurity
- Webinar: Cyberchat4all-8: AI and gender-related cyber risks
Fourth week: October 21 - 25, 2024
Social media information campaign on national cybersecurity initiatives:
- National cybersecurity strategies
- Women in cybersecurity
- Diversity in the cybersecurity workforce
Fifth week: October 28 - November 1, 2024
