This unofficial OAS General Assembly side event seeks to energize the agenda and facilitate knowledge-sharing among OAS Member States regarding efforts in support of LGBTI+ persons across the Americas, consistent with mandates and commitments stemming from previous General Assembies and Summits of the Americas. The event can highlight key developments and opportunities in the region, including approaches and strategies to end conversion therapy practices, as well as effective measures to prevent and address violence against LGBTI+ individuals. By bringing together government officials and civil society representatives, the event aims to foster dialogue, share best practices, and identify opportunities for collaboration to advance the rights and safety of LGBTI+ individuals in the region.
