The Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) will host a Webinar in English "Investing in the Future: Technical and Financial Instruments for Port Decarbonization in the Caribbean", on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 12:00 pm Washington, D.C.
This webinar will address the key challenges Caribbean ports face in decarbonizing and adapting to climate change. Featuring the Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre for the Caribbean (MTCC-Caribbean), Tropical Shipping, and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the event will examine measures from the IMO and discuss the region’s urgent need to modernize port infrastructure in the face of rising climate risks, limited access to financing, and increasing international regulatory pressures. Experts will examine strategies to unlock the capital required to support energy transition initiatives in Caribbean to enhance the sustainability, resilience, and competitiveness of the region’s port infrastructure.
