The Organization of American States (OAS) and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs held a stakeholder meeting on a new project, “Strengthening French Language in the Eastern Caribbean States and Barbados”, from October 2-3, 2025, in Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica.
This initiative will be implemented by the OAS Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) with financial support from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The project aims to advance the teaching and learning of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) across Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia over the 2025 to 2027.
The project is part of the agreement signed by the OAS during the signing ceremony held on the margins of the OAS General Assembly in Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.
