The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) will host an Informative Session with Civil Society Organizations on October 9, 2025, at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., in a hybrid format. This session, convened by the Office of Relations with Civil Society with the support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary General, aims to foster dialogue, transparency, and collaboration between the OAS and civil society actors across the Americas.

Secretary General Albert Ramdin and Assistant Secretary General Laura Gil will open the session, reaffirming the Organization’s commitment to promoting democracy, human rights, multidimensional security, and integral development, while emphasizing the essential role of civil society in advancing these priorities.

The session will also introduce the leadership of the OAS main Secretariats, including Democracy, Integral Development, Multidimensional Security and Legal Affairs. Each will share a brief overview of their priorities, programs, and opportunities for engagement.

This Informative Session provides civil society organizations with a unique opportunity to better understand the work of the OAS, interact directly with its new leadership, and explore avenues for collaboration. By strengthening these connections, the OAS seeks to build a more inclusive, transparent, and participatory hemispheric agenda.
