Event Organized by

The Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI), under the chairmanship of Ambassador Jan Marten Schalkwijk, Permanent Representative of Suriname to the OAS, and the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI), will convene a regular session focused on:  Institutional and Human Resource Readiness for Trade

This thematic session builds on the development of a Roadmap for Capacity Building to Improve Trade in the Americas. Recognizing that trade-led growth is not possible without a skilled and inclusive workforce, the session will focus on:

  • Aligning education and training systems with trade-intensive sectors
  • Advancing technical and vocational education (TVET) and labor mobility
  • Fostering inclusive employment—especially for youth, women, and marginalized communities
  • Expanding regional cooperation to address skills gaps and support economic integration
