The Office of the Special Envoy for the Response to Venezuela of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the DSI of the OAS have been working since 2021 on training activities and strengthening the capacities of women leaders of the Venezuelan diaspora and visibility campaigns to highlight their role in host communities in different countries of the Americas.

One of the activities is the organization of webinars, addressing the role of women leaders of Venezuelan diaspora organizations on topics such as gender-based violence, human trafficking and xenophobia. Different digital tools for leadership have also been addressed.

Within the framework of these trainings, the leaders expressed the need to continue learning trough a network. This was the origin of the proposal to hold a face-to-face meeting with Venezuelan women leaders from different countries in the region.

Since then , the Regional Network of Venezuelan Diaspora Leaders has generated various activities and support for migrants and refugees.
