Description: INTRODUCTION:
Several students will take part in a skit that will emphasize cause and effect relationships. Following this, the teacher will inform the students that today they will learn about cause & effect relationships.
1. Through direct instruction and the use of a power-point presentation, the teacher will explain the notes on cause & effect relationships.
2. Through direct instruction, the teacher will instruct students to work cooperatively to identify cause & effect relationships that were displayed in the skit.
3. The teacher will show a video clip of the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Following this, she will instruct the students to work independently to identify the effects of the storm using a graphic organizer.
4. The teacher will give students a worksheet (graphic organizer) on cause & effect relationships to complete on their own.
