Galapagos Islands land of fire

Description: First of all I would ask this questions to the students, why don't we find mammals, and other kinf od plants that we find in the in the main land in the islands?; and what kind of animals and plants do we find in the islands? and why. Students have 5 minutes to answer this questions then they share what they write with their class, then they have to complete the collaborati ve work, Students write an essay about what is biogeography and explain how the species arrived to the Galapagos islands and state the reasons that this species could afford the long trip from mainland to the islands and how this influence in their evolution. After this students give their argments to the class. Finally teacher clarify what is biogeography and how the species got to the Galapagos islands. The teacher always gives feedback during the class.

Description: 1. Show a video presentation on a poorly conducted meetings.
2. In groups ask the class to identify the errors by writing on a flip chart and making their presentation.
3. Ask the class to recommend ways in which the meeting could have been conducted differently
4. Ask class in groups to research while in class meeting procedures give an assignment.
You have been invited to make a presentation to your peers on “The importance of meeting procedures”. Prepare your presentation using suitable presentation software and as is necessary role-play situations that will significantly highlight your points.

5. Guest lecturer to talk on meetings.
6. Introduce interview by showing a video presentation on interviews. Discussion to follow.
7. Give assignment: Working in small teams, assess the following situations and develop a questionnaire of 12 possible questions that may be asked. Demonstrate this in the form of a role play.
Have your teammates assess the question and answer session and make recommendations where necessary.

Working in small groups, simulate an interview scenario.
You are being interviewed for a junior position within the organization. On arrival you see a number of persons seated in the waiting area; without asking any questions of the receptionist, you take a seat unknowingly that the persons are for a more senior position and that your interview is in another waiting.
• You take up a form, fill out the necessary information and wait to be acknowledged by the panel in the room.
• Your turn has come and you enter the room for the interview.
• Give an ending to the scenario and demonstrate the use of active listening and questioning during the interviewing process.

Description: A video was played of clips showing people in conflict. The students watched the clips and discussed what was happening within the video. PowerPoint was used to examine both internal and external conflict and examples were provided. Additionally, students were handed out scenarios and in pairs identified the conflicts represented. After the pired activity, students were given new sets of scenarios that they had to complete on their own, differentiating the conflicts discussed.

Topic: The Monkey's Heart
 
Description: The title of the story will be introduced. Students will predict what they think the story is about. Whole class discussion will be done. Students will skim and scan story for unusual words. These words will be listed on whiteboard. Individuals will be allowed to read sentences or paragrahs in which words are found and then use context clues to give meanings. Students will watch a video with one versión of the story.
Individuals, then whole class will read the story.
Students will be questioned so as to analyse the story to say who is the bad and good charácter. They will then tell whether or not their predictions about the story was correct. Socratic questioning will be done.Students will compare the two versions of the story and tell what differnces there are..
