Until 2012, MBDC owned the C2C trademark. They are the original creators of the Cradle-to-Cradle®  philosophy that is the source of inspiration for the development of this Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas project. This US-firm has a significant track record around the globe dealing with small to multimillion dollar projects aiming to showcase the viability of achieving circular economy by designing and manufacturing products, buildings and other infrastructure based on the C2C design principles to achieve closing of material loops. MBDC will take the lead on providing targeted assistance in the process of labeling/certification, capacity building and other essential requirements to facilitate a proper level of use and evaluation of Closed Looped Cycle Production methods in each respective participating nation.   • C2C Expo Lab:

The Cradle to Cradle Expo Lab (C2C Expo Lab) is Europe’s principle repository of knowledge, best practices and clearinghouse in the field of Cradle-to-Cradle®  design and manufacturing processes and methods. It also collaborates with the C2C Product Innovation Institute in San Francisco in hosting the world’s largest certified C2C products library and projects database. C2C Expo Lab will contribute to the project by hosting the dedicated CLCP website and facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience in the USA and EU to LAC regarding C2C projects

 

  • U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):

The US-EPA’s Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Initiative is a key initiative that focuses on serving human needs by using/reusing resources most productively and sustainably throughout their life cycles, from the point of resource extraction through material disposal. This approach, in line with the Closed Looped Cycle Production philosophy, seeks to minimize the amount of materials involved and all the associated environmental impacts, as well as account for economic efficiency and social considerations. US-EPA will assist in the process of capacity and awareness building, providing access to senior EPA experts in the field of SMM to provide targeted training sessions and facilitate the exchange of knowhow of the US manufacturing industry with project countries in the Americas

 

  • The National Cleaner Production Center of Colombia (CNPL):

The National Centre of Cleaner Production of Colombia (CNPL) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is advice and ensures the development and implementation of technologies that contribute to the sustainable development in the region. It has been in operation for 14 years and has vital experience in the field of cleaner production. The CNPL is a center with technical capability to assist in the implementation of the activities in the topic of closed-looped cycle production; they will act as one of the principle regional partners and assist in the implementation of specific in-country data gathering and analysis work in Colombia and near –by nations.
