Today launched the 49th Course on
International Law organized by the
Inter-American Juridical Committee (CJI) and the
Department of International Law (DIL) of the
Secretariat for Legal Affairs of the
Organization of American States (OAS) in
the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The opening ceremony was held at the
facilities of Escola da Magistratura do
Estado do Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ) and was
co-sponsored by that institution. During the
event, Dr. Jean-Michel Arrighi, Secretary for
Legal Affairs of the OAS, Judge Des. Marco
Aurélio Bezerra de Melo, Director General of the
EMERJ and Dr. Dante Negro, Director of the
Department of International Law of the OAS
welcome the students took the floor.
Over
the course of two weeks, 45 students from 15
countries of the Americas will receive classes
on various subjects related to international
law, both public and private, as well as new
legal developments in the Inter-American System.
The professors will be composed of academics,
international civil servants, arbitrators, and
internationalists.
