Twelfth Meeting of the Authorities and the Executive Committee of the Inter-American Committee on Education
The XII Meeting of Authorities and Executive Committee of the Inter-American Committee on Education (CIE) took place at OAS Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on May 18 and 19, 2011. This was the first virtual meeting of the authorities of the CIE.
The objectives of the meeting were to present the project “Horizontal Cooperation on Teacher Education (ITEN): A Community of Innovative Leaders in Education”; to present the decisions adopted for the FEMCIDI transition period and next steps; to present a series of activities in the area of childhood education; to review the initiatives on the topic of Education on Democratic Values and Practices; to consider a project continuation proposal for Phase III of the Horizontal Cooperation Project on Teacher Education for 21st Century Teachers: A Focus on Technology and Collaboration to Improve the Quality of Education in the Americas; and to present the progress in the preparations for the Seventh Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Education to be held in Paramaribo, Suriname on March 1-2, 2012.
