The Twenty-Fifth Inter-American Congress of Ministers and High-Level Authorities of Tourism, which will be held virtually on October 6, 2021 is organized jointly with the Government of Paraguay under the theme “Toward the Reconstruction and Rebuilding of Tourism Post COVID-19.”
The Inter-American Congress of Ministers and High-Level Authorities of Tourism brings together the highest tourism authorities of the hemisphere as well as representatives from the private sector, academia, and civil society. It is a key instrument for tourism cooperation and remains the principal forum for hemispheric dialogue and the formulation of tourism policy in the Americas.
The Twenty-Fifth Congress will address the following two sub-themes:
1 Strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of COVID-19 on tourism.
2 Tourism post-COVID-19.
Ministers and high-level authorities of tourism will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and review policy related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the travel and tourism sector and to identify concrete areas for cooperation among member states to promote its rebuilding and recovery following the pandemic.
