Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE FOR THE DECLARATION OF THE IV SUMMIT OF THE AMERICAS
September 2, 2005
Representatives of the 34 Member States of the Hemisphere will meet on September 7-9 in Buenos Aires, Argentina during the XL Summit Implementation Review Group Meeting (SIRG). The purpose of this meeting is to continue the negotiations of the Declaration and Plan of Action that the Heads of State and Government will sign at the IV Summit of the Americas that will take place in Mar del Plata, Argentina on November 4 – 5, 2005. The negotiations will focus on the policies that the leaders of the region will adopt regarding job creation to fight poverty and strengthen democratic governance. The Palacio San Martín of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina will be the venue of the XL SIRG meeting.
A seminar, with the participation of the members of the Joint Summit Working Group (JSWG), that includes agencies of the Inter American and United Nations systems which give technical support to governments in the implementation of Summit mandates, will take place in the framework of this meeting. This seminar is aimed at facilitating a dialogue between the multilateral institutions and governments and identifying concrete initiatives that respond to the objectives defined in the Draft Declaration and Plan of Action of Mar del Plata.
On the other hand, representatives of civil society will be present at the XL SIRG meeting with the objective of presenting their recommendations on the theme of the IV Summit to the Member States. They will also present recommendations on issues such as gender, indigenous peoples, afrodescendents, human rights and employment, and results of the 4 regional and 2 subregional forums that have taken place as part of the preparatory activities for the IV Summit of the Americas. The recommendations formulated by civil society will be considered as a contribution to the work executed by National Summit Coordinators in preparation for the Mar del Plata Summit.
The government of Argentina, as host of the IV Summit of the Americas and Chair of the SIRG, has proposed the theme “Creating Jobs to Fight Poverty and Strengthen Democratic Governance”. In response to this, the Summits of the Americas Secretariat of the OAS, with the support of the government of Argentina, has organized activities that foster the participation of the different social sectors in the Summit Process.
