Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

Secretary General Insulza Reaffirms the OAS Commitment in the Fight against Terrorism on the 10th Anniversary of the September 11 Attacks

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today reaffirmed his full condemnation of all terrorist attacks and renewed the organization’s commitment in the fight against this scourge, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the largest terrorist attack in the history of the continent, which occurred in New York on September 11, 2001.
Insulza reaffirmed the need for the international community to work together to eradicate this scourge, to minimize its consequences and to address its causes.
He stressed that, unfortunately, the phenomenon of terrorism is still happening, which imposes the obligation to continue fighting it in a permanent, frontal and decisive way. He also stressed the need to learn the lessons from a decade of struggle against terrorism, and to work towards the creation of conditions that hamper the circumstances and motivations that generate terrorism.
The Secretary General expressed his condolences to the people and government of the United States and in particular to the victims and their families and wished that these events are not repeated ever again, anywhere in the world.
