Honduras Communicates Its Consent to Receive On-SIte Visits of the OAS Anticorruption Mechanism

Honduras joins the States Parties to the Mechanism for Follow-up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC) that have expressed their consent to on-site visits, as part of that Mechanism’s review process for the framework of the Fourth Round that will begin in 2012.

Through its Permanent Mission to the OAS, Honduras formally notified this to the Technical Secretariat of the MESICIC, in accordance with the Methodology for Conducting On-site Visits.

To date, the States Parties that have formally expressed their consent to these visits are the following: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, the United States and Uruguay.

The Technical Secretariat of the MESICIC expects to receive over the coming days similar notifications from other States, which have reported that they are taking the steps needed domestically to formalize their consent.
