OAS Secretary General Expresses Condolences to Guatemala for Earthquake Victims

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today sent a letter to the President of Guatemala, Otto Pérez Molina, expressing his condolences and solidarity for the loss of life and damages caused by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the country, which particularly affected the departments of San Marcos, Quetzaltenango, Retalhuleu, Sololá, Totonicapán, Sur del Quiche and Sur de Huehuetenango.

Secretary General Insulza offered the aid of the organization he leads to the Guatemalan government: "Count on all the support that your government may need in the reconstruction of the earthquake-affected areas, particularly in the efforts to assist victims," read the letter sent by Secretary General Insulza to President Pérez Molina.
