Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

PRESIDENT OF DOMINICAN REPUBLIC HOSTS OAS SECRETARY GENERAL AND HEADS OF DELEGATION AT MEETING OF PUBLIC SECURITY IN THE AMERICAS

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernández, met Wednesday with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the ministers, vice ministers and heads of delegation attending the Second Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas (MISPA II), taking place until Thursday in Santo Domingo.
President Fernández hosted a luncheon where an open and franc discussion took place regarding the issue of public security in the countries of the hemisphere. Previously, President Fernández and Secretary General Insulza also met to discuss issues related to the Inter-American Democratic Charter.
The Second Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas addresses issues such as the prevention of violence, public policies, the fight against organized crime and the exchange of experiences related to police intelligence. Besides representatives from almost all OAS Member States, the meeting also features presentations by representatives of INTERPOL, the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), among others.
