OAS Secretary General condemns terrorist attack in Chile

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today condemned the terrorist attack perpetrated in Chile, which left 14 injured, innocent victims of cowardly and senseless violence.

The head of the hemispheric Organization expressed his solidarity to the victims and their families and called on all sectors of the country to face the situation calmly, united and confident in President Michelle Bachelet and in law enforcement and security authorities.

The OAS Secretary General commended the government of President Bachelet for the determined decision, announced by the Minister of the Interior, to apply against the perpetrators the anti-terrorism law, to identify them to the country, and to punish them to the full extent of the law.
