Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Assistant Secretary General Addresses Youth and Employment Issues in the Caribbean

The Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin met with the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Perry Christie, in Nassau this week.
The two discussed the vision, goals and priorities of the government of the Bahamas as well as the opportunities for further collaboration and assistance through OAS programs. Of particular interest was the issue of employment opportunities for youth. Ambassador Ramdin, also the Chair of the OAS Inter-Departmental Working Group on Youth, identified the potential for further collaboration in The Bahamas, with the OAS’ Young Americas Business Trust (YABT).
Assistant Secretary General Ramdin, who later traveled to Barbados for the launch of the Caribbean Innovation Competition, organized by YABT, described as “pressing” the need to find creative and innovative solutions for the economic and social challenges facing the Caribbean and the wider hemisphere. “The challenges facing us are volatile and ever-changing; therefore our solutions require critical thinking and creativity. Creativity, in turn requires change,” added the OAS official.
The Caribbean Innovation Challenge is an international entrepreneur competition and business start-up accelerator program targeting young people between the ages of 16 and 29 in CARICOM Member States. The event promotes innovation, business development and job creation, and seeks to unlock the potential of young people to generate ideas which can benefit Caribbean communities.
