OAS Secretary General Travels to Lima

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today travelled to Lima, where he will be received on Thursday by the President of Peru, Ollanta Humala, in a meeting at the Palace of Government which will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rafael Roncagliolo.

During his stay in the Peruvian capital, Secretary General Insulza will take part in the 2013 World Economic Forum on Latin America, which will be inaugurated today by Peruvian President Humala and his counterparts from Mexico and Panama, Enrique Peña Nieto and Ricardo Martinelli.

The OAS leader will participate in the Forum as a speaker in the panel “Drug Policy: Untying the Knot,” together with Oscar Adolfo Naranjo Trujillo, Director of the Instituto Latinoamericano de Ciudadanía of Mexico; Washington de Oliveira Rimas, Director of “Cultural Afro Reggae,” of Brazil; and Michael Botticelli, Deputy Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
