Attendance of Civil Society and Other Social Actors at the OAS General Assembly
June 14, 2016
In light of the unprecedented turnout of civil society organizations and other social actors for the activities of the forty-sixth regular session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) and bearing in mind the limited space in the meetings rooms, the Presidency of the Assembly and the General Secretariat of the OAS have decided that the following will be granted admittance to meetings:
• The spokespersons of the representatives of civil society, workers and the private sector who were selected for Monday’s dialogue with the heads of delegation of the OAS member states.
• One representative per organization enrolled in the OAS roster of civil society organizations. The representative must be accredited by the civil society organization for participation in the General Assembly.
• The representatives of indigenous people invited to participate in the General Assembly.
Admission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic will be via the entrance on Avenida Independencia.
Representatives of civil society and other social actors wishing to follow the proceedings of the plenary meetings of the General Assembly may do so from rooms set up for that purpose at Hotel El Embajador (Calle Embajador, 65, Santo Domingo).
