Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Secretary General Welcomes Immigration Reform Efforts in United States

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, welcomed the efforts in favor of immigration reform announced by President Barack Obama and a group of Senate Democrats and Republicans in the United States, and noted the clear parallels in the principles of the two initiatives.
"That these efforts bear fruit is good for everyone: for the millions of immigrants to the United States as a whole, because it is not just an urgent matter in human terms, but also because it promotes the development of the country as a whole," said Insulza. The OAS leader then pointed out that "given the large number of Latino and Caribbean immigrants who would benefit from comprehensive immigration reform, this issue is also of hemispheric interest and thus a priority for the OAS."
Insulza highlighted the extraordinary growth of Latinos in the United States and their impact on the economy, culture and politics of the country, and noted that "that impact and that contribution must find a correlation with the normalization of the migratory status of many people now living in constant uncertainty, fearing for their well-being and that of their families."
Finally the Secretary General welcomed the efforts of President Obama and senators from both parties and highlighted their political vision in advancing this much-needed reform.
