OAS and Government of Colombia Organize Course on Cyber Security

The Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Cybernetic Emergency Response Group of Colombia (colCERT) will conduct a course on the management of cyber security incidents in Barranquilla, Colombia, from December 17 to 21.
The aim of the event, which has the support of the State Department of the United States, is to strengthen the technical capacity of Colombian officials who have direct responsibility for preventing and responding to cyber security incidents. The course is aligned with the objectives of the National Policy on Cyber Security and Cyber Defense adopted by the Colombian government in July 2011.
Among those attending the event will be colCERT officials, the National Police, the Attorney General's Office and the Armed Forces. In order to strengthen relations with the private sector and civil society, the government of Colombia has invited representatives of the financial sector and the Autonomous University of the Caribbean, which will host the meeting.
