OAS Secretary General Participates in Tricameral Forum in Mexico on Drug Policy

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today traveled to Mexico City to participate in the Tricameral Forum "From Prohibition to Regulation: New Approaches to Drug Policies."

The Forum is organized by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of Mexico, along with the Federal District Legislative Assembly, and features the participation of legislators, officials and former government officials from the region, European diplomats, human rights experts, academics and specialists in the field.

The Secretary General will present during the event the "Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas," prepared by the OAS under his supervision and that gave rise to the debate currently underway in the Hemisphere on the effectiveness of current anti-drug policies.
