OAS and Colombian Department of Córdoba Organize Conference on Neuroeducation and Early Childhood
November 20, 2012
The Organization of American States (OAS), the government of Córdoba, Colombia and the Ibero-American Center of Neurosciences, Education and Human Development (CEREBRUM) will hold the “First International Congress of Neuroeducation and Early Childhood,” from November 23 to 24 at the Monteria Convention Center in the city of Monteria, Córdoba, Colombia.
The Congress will focus on exchanging information in the field of neuroscience, in particular fostering an understanding of the great changes that take place in the brain during early childhood. This understanding will, in turn, support local and national public policies and help to improve the quality of education of the children of Córdoba.
The meeting will bring together preschool and early childhood teachers, scientists, child development specialists, government officials, legislators, academics, international organizations and NGOs, among others.
This event is organized within the framework of the principles of the National and Regional Education Plan and the National Strategy for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care "Zero to 5iempre" of Colombia. This important initiative is also in compliance with the Hemispheric Commitment to Early Childhood Education, by which OAS Member States agreed to work together with government, non-government, international institutions, civil society and entrepreneurs to achieve a quality comprehensive early childhood care.
