OAS and Government of Colombia Celebrate 15 Years of the Mission to Support the Peace Process (MAPP/OAS)

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Government of Colombia will host on Wednesday, November 6 at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, D.C., the commemoration of the 15 years of work of the Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia of the OAS, which since 2004 has continuously monitored and accompanied the peace efforts of the Colombian State and society.

During the celebration, the contributions, characteristics and experience of this Mission will be presented. For a decade and a half, the Mission has worked directly in the rural territories most affected by the armed conflict, as well as crime and inequality in Colombia, in constant contact with the communities and institutions.

The event will feature the Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS, Alejandro Ordóñez; the Chief of Staff of the OAS Secretary General, Gonzalo Koncke; and the Chief of the MAPP/OAS, Roberto Menéndez.
