OAS Organizes International Seminar on Effective Public Management

The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold an international seminar on "Innovative Experiences in Effective Public Management and Regional Cooperation Strategies," tomorrow, September 21, between 09:00 EDT (13:00 GMT) and 17:30 EDT (21:30 GMT) in the Ruben Dario Room of the GSB Building of the hemispheric organization.

The seminar, organized by the Department for Effective Public Management of the OAS and financed by the government of Canada, will present new practices related to effective public management in the countries of the Americas and cooperation strategies of participating international organizations aimed at strengthening the institutional and administrative systems of the countries of the region.

The event will be inaugurated by the Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, and will feature the participation of the Minister of National Planning and Economic Policy of Costa Rica, Roberto Gallardo; the Deputy Secretary of the Secretariat for Public Service of Mexico, Uriel Marquez; the Deputy Secretary of State Democratization in the Planning and Development Ministry of Ecuador, Pabel Muñoz; and officials from the Organization of American States; the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD); the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF).
