OAS Drug Abuse Control Commission Begins Tomorrow its 58th Session in Trujillo, Peru

The Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) of the Organization of American States (OAS) will begin tomorrow, Wednesday November 11th, its 58th Regular Session in Trujillo, Peru, in which the 34 active members of the hemispheric institution will take part.

The event will be opened by the Acting Secretary for Multidimensional Security of the OAS, Paulina Duarte; the head of the Peru’s National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs - DEVIDA, Alberto Otarola; and the Permanent Representative of Peru to the OAS, Juan Jiménez Mayor.

The main topics of the biannual meeting of CICAD will highlight reports on reducing supply and demand for drugs, and money laundering. The event will also include a special meeting devoted to analyzing the region's position ahead of the United Nations General Assembly on the World Drug Problem, UNGASS 2016, to be held next year in New York.
