OAS Secretary General to Present Report on Citizen Safety in the Americas 2012

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, will present the “Report on Citizen Security in the Americas 2012” this Friday, September 14 at 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT) at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
The study, prepared by the OAS Secretariat for Multidimensional Security, based on official information provided by the 34 OAS Member Countries, includes statistics on crime and violence throughout the Americas.
The report contains 80 tables and 122 indicators that cover the range of social phenomena related to public and private security, among them violent deaths, robberies, and other administrative records provided by the police, as well as drug supply and demand and the results of victimization surveys.
