OAS and Uruguayan Parliament to Conduct Workshop and Round Table on Corporate Social Responsibility

  June 14, 2011

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Uruguayan Parliament will organize a workshop and round table titled, “A Vision of Corporate Social Responsibility from the Parliament,” this June 16 in Room 17 of the Parliament of Uruguay in Montevideo.

The workshop’s objective is to promote the values and principles of CSR, as well as facilitate the tools to support legislative initiatives. The dialogue seeks to encourage an exchange of ideas between legislators and the different stakeholders involved in the success of the strategies of Social Responsibility in Uruguay, with the goal of identifying points of agreement around the social commitments required to make progress with a more sustainable and equal development in the country.

These two activities are part of the project, “Social Responsibility and Parliamentary Management,” of the OAS regional CSR initiative in the Americas, through the OAS Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) and the OAS Secretariat for Political Affairs (SPA), with the support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
