Inter-American Commission of Women of the OAS to Host Symposium on Violence, Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights

The Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM) of the Organization of American States (OAS) will organize tomorrow, Friday June 19th a symposium entitled "Violence, Health, and Sexual and Reproductive Rights," at the headquarters of the institution in Washington, DC.

The event will be opened by the OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro; the Chief Program Officer of the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), Karen Hanrahan; the Assistant Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Francisco Becerra Posada; and the Ambassador and Permanent Observer of France to OAS, Jean-Claude Nolla.

In two panels, representatives of the OAS permanent missions, observer countries, women's organizations, government agencies, research centers, and members of academia and the international community will analyze the relationship between gender violence, sexual and reproductive rights and public health.
