Lecture of the Americas to debate “Education and Development in the Americas”

“Education and Development in the Americas” will be the focus of discussion on Tuesday, June 19 at the 47th Lecture of the Americas, presented by the Organization of American States (OAS).

The Rector of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), José Narro Robles, and the Rector of the University of San Martin de Porres (USMP) in Peru, José Antonio Chang, will present their perspectives on how universities can contribute to the development of the hemisphere and play a relevant role in the joint search for solutions to the challenges facing the Americas.

The speakers at the event have been recognized for their work in the modernization of the institutions they lead. Dr. Narro, who has headed UNAM since 2007, is the author of more than 93 scientific publications and 172 overall, and has given more than 590 conferences in Mexico and abroad.

For his part, José Chang has been the Rector of USMP for more than 16 years. He was Education Minister of Peru during the second government of Alan Garcia, Central Manager of Information Technology for the Bank of the Nation, National Secretary of Information Technology, Director of CORPAC and Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Systems Engineering of USMP.
