Dialogue on Social Protection and Informal Economies will be Held within the Framework of the 54th OAS General Assembly in Paraguay

The “Dialogue on Social Protection and Informal Economies within the Framework of Economic, Social, Cultural, and Environmental Rights (ESCER) in the Americas” will take place this Thursday, June 27, in Asunción, Paraguay. The event aims to bring together representatives from the Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS), organizations of the Inter-American and United Nations systems, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and public institutions of Paraguay to discuss the connection between ESCER and social protection.
This activity seeks to promote a regional commitment to creating policies integrating people from the informal labor sector into social protection systems, thereby protecting and ensuring their rights.
The dialogue is organized by the Working Group to Examine the Periodic Reports of the State Parties to the Protocol of San Salvador (WGPPS), the Department of Social Inclusion (DSI) of the Secretariat for Access to Rights and Equity of the OAS, the Special Rapporteurship on Economic, Social, Cultural, and Environmental Rights (REDESCA) of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), and the Technical Unit of the Social Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic of Paraguay.
