OAS Permanent Council Celebrates Week for Indigenous People and Receives Report on MAPP/OAS

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold two meetings on Thursday, August 9, in Simon Bolivar Hall at OAS headquarters in Washington DC.

At 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT), the Council will hold a special meeting to promote dialogue for advancing policies on the rights of indigenous peoples and promote their social inclusion in the Americas.

Later that day, the Council will hold a regular meeting at 14:30 EDT (18:30 GMT) to receive the “Twenty-Fourth Semi-Annual Report of the Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia” of the OAS, among other topics.

The meetings will be broadcast live - with interpretation in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese- on the OAS Website.
