Permanent Council to Hold Fourth Special Meeting Dedicated to the Permanent Observers to the OAS

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special virtual meeting on Wednesday, June 10, at 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT) “dedicated to permanent observers for dialogue on cooperation, sharing of information and the promotion of partnerships.”

The Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, and the Chair of the Permanent Council and Representative of Haiti, Leon Charles, will open the dialogue with observer countries, which will focus on national responses to the COVID-19 crisis and cooperation, sharing of information and the promotion of partnerships in the current context. The meeting will include presentations by permanent observers from Spain, Italy, France, the Holy See, the European Union, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Qatar and China.
