Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS AND ILO WILL HOST A ROUNDTABLE ON “YOUTH, DECENT WORK AND PROSPERITY IN THE AMERICAS”

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Regional Office for the Americas will host next Wednesday, November 5th, at 2:00 pm, the Eleventh OAS Policy Roundtable on “Youth, Decent Work, and Prosperity in the Americas.”
The event, which will consist of two panels, will be opened by the OAS Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza; and the Minister of Labour and Small and Micro-Enterprise Development of Trinidad and Tobago, Rennie Dumas.
The first panel will cover the theme “Youth and Decent Work”. The discussants for this panel include the Deputy Undersecretary for International Affairs, United States Department of Labor, Charlotte Ponticelli; the Director of OAS Department of Social Development and Employment, Francisco Pilotti; as well as representatives from the Trade Union Technical Advisory Council (COSATE), and from the Business Technical Advisory Committee (CEATAL).
“Decent Work and Human Prosperity” will be the theme covered on the second panel; with the participation of the Minister of Labor and Labor Development of Panama, Edwin Salamin; the ILO Director for Central America, Haiti, Panama and Dominican Republic, Virgilio Levaggi; the Director of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Inés Bustillo; and the Director of the Young Americas Business Trust, Roy Thomasson.
After the various interventions, a dialogue between participants and speakers will take place, moderated by the Director of the OAS Department for International Affairs, Irene Klinger. The closing remarks will be made by the ILO Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Jean Maninat.
