VICE PRESIDENT OF PANAMA TO VISIT OAS

  May 17, 2006

Panama’s Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Lewis, will be received on Friday by a special meeting of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS).

Lewis will speak about the plans underway to expand the Panama Canal, among other issues. OAS Secretary General José Miguel Insulza will also participate in the meeting, which will be chaired by Ambassador Ellsworth John of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
