OAS Launches Call for Proposals for Technical Assistance Missions in Culture
March 5, 2010
The Organization of American States (OAS), through its Office of Education and Culture (OEC), has launched a call for proposals for government and non-governmental entities to help countries in the hemisphere promote social and economic development through culture.
The Cooperation Fund for Technical Assistance Missions in Culture will finance travel for technical assistance missions to enable Member States with interest in learning more about a cultural policy or program to travel to or host another country willing to share its expertise in that field.
The Fund, which will be allocated through a competitive process and is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), promotes bilateral and multilateral cooperation among OAS Member States.
Interested parties must sign a written agreement of commitment before submitting a proposal for consideration and identify the needs and characteristics of cooperation sought. They must also submit a request form, including a justification of need, a draft agenda for the mission and a preliminary budget, among other documents.
The required documentation may be submitted by email to María Paula Farfán: [email protected]; the deadline is March 26, 2010. Successful applicants will be selected by May 7. The missions are expected to be conducted between July and October, 2010.
