OAS and ORITEL to Launch "Let's Move the Limits" Campaign

  March 11, 2015

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Telethons Organization (ORITEL) will launch on Thursday, March 12 at the OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, the campaign "Let's Move the Limits," which will feature the participation of the OAS Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, and the President of ORITEL, Mario Kreutzberger (Don Francisco).

The campaign, which will be presented at the Art Museum of the Americas of the OAS, seeks to increase the levels of perception of people with disabilities as subjects with full rights, and sensitize society to encourage the adoption of measures aimed at the inclusion of people with disabilities in all social areas, as well as the spheres of human development and recreation.

On August 10, 2012 the OAS and ORITEL signed a Letter of Intent by which they declared their mutual interest in working together to take actions that contribute to the implementation of the regulatory frameworks of the Inter-American system for the rights of people with disabilities, of the Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (CIADDIS) and the Program of Action for the Decade of the Americas for the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities. In this context, the "Let's Move the Limits" campaign is based on the concept of inclusive development that values the contribution of each human being to the development process, non-discrimination and the recognition of differences, appreciation of diversity and the principles of equity and justice.

The launch event will include presentations by both authorities followed by the presentation of a series of TV spots used to promote the campaign.
