OAS DRUG CONTROL COMMISSION WRAPS UP 33RD SESSION

The Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), an Organization of American States specialized agency, will wrap up its 33rd regular session on Friday, May 2.

During the four-day session, the CICAD member state delegates are considering a range of issues including cooperation to stem the flow of illegal drugs and weapons by sea and the incorporation of 9 new indicators into the CICAD Multilateral Evaluation Mechanism (MEM).

CICAD Chairman Rafael Macedo de la Concha, who is also Mexico’s Attorney General, will preside over the closing ceremony where among others, CICAD Executive Secretary David Beall and CICAD Vice Chairman, Canadian Paul Kennedy, will be in attendance.

A light lunch will be served.
