ANTI-CORRUPTION EXPERTS MEET AT OAS: FOLLOW-UP TO
INTER-AMERICAN CONVENTION AGAINST CORRUPTION

Government anti-corruption experts will meet at the Organization of American States (OAS) beginning Monday to examine progress against corruption in six countries in the hemisphere. The opening session, which is scheduled to begin at 10:50 a.m., will be open to the press.

The Committee of Experts of the Mechanism for Follow-Up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption is headed by Guadalupe Cajías, Bolivia’s Presidential Representative against Corruption.

During the meeting, which will end on Saturday, March 12, the experts will consider draft reports on the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, and Trinidad and Tobago. To date, the experts have adopted follow-up reports on the fight against corruption in 12 other member states.
