OAS Permanent Council to Commemorate the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special virtual meeting on Thursday, March 25 at 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT) to commemorate the “International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.” The meeting, held within the framework of the Fourth Inter-American Annual Week for People of African Descent in the Americas, will focus on the theme “Ending slavery’s legacy of racism: the imperative for strengthening justice and resilience in Afro-descendant communities in the Americas in the face of COVID-19.”
