Permanent Council to Receive Candidates for Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General of the OAS

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, February 12 at 09:30 EST (14:30 GMT) in the Hall of the Americas at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., to receive the candidates for Secretary General: Luis Almagro, Hugo de Zela and María Fernanda Espinosa (according to the order established at the meeting on February 6); and for Assistant Secretary General, Nestor Mendez; who will present to the Council their proposals and initiatives to lead the hemispheric Organization during the 2020-2025 period.

The meeting will be broadcast live - with interpretation in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese- on the OAS Website and the OAS Facebook page

Representatives of the media who wish to cover the meeting are asked to send their name and that of the media they represent to OASpress@oas.org. Credentials will be given the same day of the meeting, upon presentation of personal and media identification.
