Permanent Council to Receive Candidates for Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General of the OAS

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, February 12 at 09:30 EST (14:30 GMT) in the Hall of the Americas at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., to receive the candidates for Secretary General: Luis Almagro, Hugo de Zela and María Fernanda Espinosa (according to the order established at the meeting on February 6); and for Assistant Secretary General, Nestor Mendez; who will present to the Council their proposals and initiatives to lead the hemispheric Organization during the 2020-2025 period.

The meeting will be broadcast live - with interpretation in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese- on the OAS Website and the OAS Facebook page
